Chasing Chinggis

After a full day of traveling, I have officially arrived in Chinggis' homeland. I left my hostel in Xi'an at 7:50am, and arrived in Ulaan Bator at 8pm, after spending four hours at the Beijing airport. I have nothing to report at the moment, except to say that UB appears to be a perfect example of how NOT to plan a city....it doesn't appear as though Soviet city planners put any thought into how UB was developed, because quite honestly, the city is a bit an eyesore. From the air, UB is probably the ugliest city I've ever seen; it's just one giant urban sprawl. Hmmm...maybe I'm being prematurely harsh, and should give it some time, but so far....it's not looking good.
